About Us
Our aim is to provide a fun, friendly and relaxed hobbies portrait experience for all of your children. Although we try to keep shoots as natural as possible with the hobbies photoshoots, we ask that you bring with you any uniforms, strips or costumes your children wear, and any equipment such as balls, bats, racquets, instruments they use during their hobby. We try to make each shoot unique to your children so if they have any certificates, medals or trophy’s bring them along as well.
How we began
Village Photography is a family-run photography business which specialises in providing professional family and pet portraits across the North East of England.
Our unique father-daughter team comprises of me, Judith, the owner and primary photographer, and my father, Derek. Together we offer over 50 years’ professional photography experience. We are both full time Professional Members of the National Photographic Society and have both been awarded Licentiate and Qualified Master Photographer qualifications, in recognition of our skills and performance in both wedding and portrait photography.
Tracey and Michelle are also part of the team, they both look after all the administration and my diary, if you register to take part it will be one of the girls who call you to explain how the competition works and book your children in for their shoot.
My love for photography began when I was 11 years old (not giving my age away that’s nearly 39 years ago!). I love photographing children, families and dogs. I had already captured a few weddings, birthday parties, stage performances when I eventually turned my hobby into a profession in 2002. Initially capturing weddings, I opened my first studio in South Shields in 2006. I very quickly outgrew it and moved to my current studio in Hebburn in 2010, which allowed me to expand the portraiture side of Village Photography. Especially capturing our furry dog friends. I trained in the art of Newborn Baby Photography and over the years I’ve attended many training seminars capturing, children, families and dogs. And I still use the techniques, health & safety from these training seminars in my studio today.
In 2017 we were the Pet Portrait Photographer Of The Year, 2018 we were Photographer Of The Year and 2019 Runner up Photographer Of The Year for the National Portrait Awards.
What locations we service
